Mythopoeic

He could’ve took a stand

She should’ve fought to the very end.

But he was a coward who ran away with his tails between his legs and she had enough sanity to not fight a losing battle

Theirs, was a story of what could have been

He should’ve kept his words

She could’ve convinced him to stay

But he was a silver tongued liar and she had enough of his empty promises

Theirs,  was a cautionary tale

He should have never barged in with that cocky smile

She should have never let her guards down

He should have found a way to not sacrifice what they had

She should have kicked him out before things became too much of a cluster fuck

He could have been true to her

She should have never fell for him

But he was a good for nothing, and she gave him her heart anyway

So he will always be her favorite “what if” and she will only be his “the one who get away”

Because theirs, was a story of a lifetime

And theirs, was a story that will never be

À la mort,

I’m daydreaming again.
